La dénonciation
17 juin 1940, les Allemands investissent La Charité et passent la Loire. A la ferme d’en bas, Julia attend le retour de Léon, son mari, et de Pierre son frère, tous deux partis au front un an auparavant. Léon revient le premier et participe à nouveau au travail de la ferme. Pierre arrive peu après. Aussitôt la haine qui les oppose depuis plusieurs années se réveille. Tout les sépare : leur origine, leur caractère et surtout leurs idées. Pierre lutte contre l’occupant, Léon se prend à l’admirer.
