Bordenave, employé de banque congédié à la suite d’une grève malencontreuse, est devenu horloger. Il mène une existence paisible dans sa maison du quartier populaire de Buenos Aires. Soudain, et pour des raisons inconnues, sa femme Diana est enfermée dans une clinique psychiatrique. Dès lors, la vie de l’horloger, faite de conventions, va être bouleversée par une série de péripéties bizarres et inquiétantes, entre autres l’intervention de sa belle-sœur, des entretiens avec le fascinant Reger Samaniego, directeur de la clinique, et l’apparition dune chienne qui curieusement s’appelle Diana comme sa femme. Enfin, le comportement, de la vraie Diana, sortie de clinique, lui fait prendre conscience, petit à petit qu’autour de lui se produisent d’étranges transferts et des mutations d’âmes et de corps…
Les bons sauvages
Clothilde Santivas est de celles (l’unique ?) que la province n’émousse pas. Saucerre semble être la ville la plus rigide, la plus encrassée de traditions désuètes qui soit, et Clothilde, qui voit sur son joli minois sourdre les boutons de la puberté, songe de plus en plus à l’impossibilité d’y vivre. Elle quitte son richissime père et part à Paris. Elle flâne beaucoup, vole un peu, et se met à traduire des romans de l’espagnol. Mais Paris lui enseigne que la province est partout : c’est une façon de sentir. Or, Clothilde veut exister librement…
