Bordenave, employé de banque congédié à la suite d’une grève malencontreuse, est devenu horloger. Il mène une existence paisible dans sa maison du quartier populaire de Buenos Aires. Soudain, et pour des raisons inconnues, sa femme Diana est enfermée dans une clinique psychiatrique.
